Snowball’s Stripe!

Snowball looks all clean before he got his funny stripe!

Snowball is a white goat with a little bit of brown.  He is always finding a tree or something to help him scratch an itch.  Today when we came outside he had a big black strip across his belly.  Earlier that weekend we were burning branches and a tree stump that had fallen in our yard.  He must have decided that the remaining charcoal stump was a good place to scratch an itch on his belly.  He looked hilarious!  Silly goat!

Very Confusing Riddle

 

What am I ?

First, you throw away the outside and cook the inside. When I am done cooking, you eat the inside and throw away the inside.

Corn on the Cob !!!!!!!!                                                     

First you peel off the husk, and then you cook the corn. When the corn is done you eat the corn and throw away the cob.

Maine – GIANT Chocolate Moose!

Me, My Mom, and my sister Karlie in front of Lenny the giant chocolate moose!

We visited friends near Portland, Maine.  One of the places we stopped to visit was a family owned business.  Inside the store they had a giant Chocolate Moose, named Lenny!  The moose was BIG!  Someone took a lot of time to make and design Lenny.  I wanted to touch it but it was in a section that you can look but not touch (which is probably good because if everyone touched it the chocolate would probably melt)!

Kinder Joy: Candy & Toy Filled Eggs from India

Karlie and I enjoyed these delicious Kinder Joy candy and toy filled eggs for the first time when my Dad went to India!  I never knew they made them until he brought them home to share with us.  Recently one of his co-workers brought each of us a Kinder Joy egg back from India for us.  We LOVED it!

The Kinder Joy is an orange and white egg shape (a lot like the eggs you hunt for around Easter).  Half of the egg contains a yummy white and milk chocolate candy with a crunchy goodness that you eat with a little spoon that comes inside the egg.  The other half of the egg contains an neat little too.  It is a fun treat that you get both a tasty snack AND a toy in one cute egg.

Reviews: Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis

My sister, friends, and I love reading and listening to The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis a lot.  Several years ago my parents got us the this book. It has been a big hit with all of the kids that have read it! We have taken this book all most everywhere. It’s great to read or listen to if you are waiting in an airport or going on a road trip.

When have a chance to read more it is one I would pick.   The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe  by C.S. Lewis is one of the best books.   Kids enjoy it yet many adults love reading the book too.  All my friends want to read this and when they read it they love it too.  If you are looking for a great book this summer check out this one!

  • Entertaining to read or listen to in audiobook form

I give The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe our top rating of 5 smiles because it has been a fun book.  We have read and listened to it multiple times over the past few years.  It is something we will probably still enjoy reading once we are older too.  It is entertaining and fun!

Brina’s Rube Goldberg Team Creation – Hit the Cup!

Last week I went to summer camp while my parents were at work.  We went to a camp called CCES – Summer Encounters.  In the morning I did a camp on Technology and Music.  In the afternoon I did a class about Rube Goldberg.  The Rube Goldberg camp was my favorite!  It was a lot of fun building a lot of different creations to do fun little tasks. We worked in teams, used our creativity, and had a great time!

My first Rube Goldberg contraption was creating a system of devices that helps us get our ball from the start of the maze like creation to the end where it lands in the cup.  The video is of our ball completing the tasks we designed it to do.   The ball has to go through a bunch of different mazes and items we created for it and lands in a cup at the very end.

What is Rube Goldberg?

Rube Goldberg is known for his comics and for inventing complex machines to complete simple tasks.  He has created various contraptions, inventions, devices, or apparatus  by making it harder than necessary to perform a task.  Through a series of chain reactions and devices you can make do something serious, fun, or silly.

There is an actual Rube Goldberg Machine Contest where college and high school students build devices to complete a simple task.  The students have to use at least 20 steps Every year teams from all over the world compete to create a Rube Goldberg Machine which is an overly complex contraption, designed with humor and a narrative, to accomplish a simple task. The machine typically involves a chain reaction of events to produce, the final simple step. In his honor, campers will enjoy the challenge to turn a simple task, like flipping a light switch on with the flick of a finger, into an incredible maze of steps of reactions to finally end with task completion, like the light switch being flipped on.

This week during our summer camp we choose to do our own Rube Goldberg creations.  We are not competing in the big competition, but we had a lot of fun creating a variety of silly contraption.  My group created the following items:

  • A Ball that goes through a series of mazes and lands in a cup
  • A Zipline
  • Turn the lights off in the room

My Baby Dolls

I love baby dolls.
