Oreo – My Goat

Oreo looking back at me.

Oreo is my pet goat!  Our family has had him for several years now.  He is black with white on his tummy.  Oreo is a Nigerian Dwarf goat.  He is a boy.  Oreo likes to play, eat lots of leaves, and is very funny.

Snowball and Oreo are always near each other no matter if they are in the yard, their pen, or planning a way to escape into my Mom’s flower gardens.  Last week they got out and ate my Mom’s new plant and blueberry bush (she was not happy), but they goats thought it was a great treat!

Oreo relaxing after eating all his goodies.  Goats like cows will often be seen laying down chewing on their cud.  If you ever watch a goat long enough and it looks like they are just standing or laying their chewing a big piece of bubble gum….they are actually chewing their cud.  A pretty interesting process, the way their stomachs work (very different from our stomach).

Did you know that goats LOVE poison ivy?!  How is it that they can eat a plant that causing so many people to break out in a rash for days or even weeks?  Animals are truly amazing and Oreo is my silly goat who I love, even though he is naughty at times!

My Goats

One of my goats is Oreo. Oreo is black with white spots. He loves to follow people. I love him so much!

This is Snowball. He is nice and sweet. He also loves to follow people. I love him so much!

All My Pets

I have 1 dog, 2 goats, 2 turtles, and 20 fish. Are dog name is Skipper. She loves to play. She also knows tricks like roll over,and sit.

The goats names or Oreo, and Snowball. They like to eat. Oreo, and Snowball also love to play.

 The turtles names are Shipwreck, and Overboard. They can swim. Shipwreck, and Overboard also can splash.

I have fish too. They can have fun. They also can swim.I love my pets!

The Funniest Thing I Have Ever Seen…

The funniest thing that I have ever seen is when my goat walks on two legs and stands up.  He usually does this when he wants to get some leaves.  He doesn’t stay on two legs very long, but some day I will get a picture of him being silly and walking on two legs.   It always makes me laugh!

The goat Christmas was great because the goats were good.  They ate sticks for breakfast.  I don’t know why they did that?  I got the goats a toy for Christmas.

One day when I was outside and I saw my goats.  I said to them “Happy Halloween”!  They said “maa….maa….maa….”!  That’s how they say “Happy Halloween” to me!

A Goat with a Sore Neck

Coconut, Oreo, and Snowball munching on some leaves

One Day we looked at the goats collars and Coconut had an ouchie.  The prong of the collar caused a sore on his neck.  I think it must have hurt really bad. He can ran fast, but he let us put medicine and a bandage on him.  After a couple days his neck was healed.
